Due to its strong curvature, the usual standard tracheal canulae in laryngectomized patients often causes lesions of the front side, which lead to tracheal stenoses. Individual short synthetic material tracheal canulae are recommended. They have stood the test since 1959. Co-operation of laryngologist and prothesist is essential.
