A case of vaginal myiasis caused by P. ruficornis Fabricius was reported in a 67 yr old Chinese woman from Nongkae, Saraburi Province [Thailand], who had a stroke 5 days prior to admission. Myiasis may be due to exposed parts of the body, especially the perineum attracting a fly to deposit her young, and the habit of the maggot preferring a dark place and so crawling into the vagina, causing myiasis.
