The child with febrile convulsions

A group of 144 children with febrile convulsions is reported. Chronic treatment with anticonvulsant drugs is proposed when there are 1 or more risk factors: early age of the 1st attack, family history of febrile or afebrile seizures, focal convulsion, long duration of the fit, female sex and presence of an abnormal development or neurologic status.
