Tiapride and digestive tract surgery

Patients (27) were treated with 600 mg of tiapride after digestive tract surgery. The drug was effective during the postoperative period in 80% of patients with agitation, 44% of patients with pain on the 1st day (and 67% after the 2nd day), 70% of them with nausea, and 72% with vomiting. Digestive tract transit was reestablished by the 4th day in 89% of the operated cases. Overall improvement in postoperative disorders was obtained in 70% of the patients.
