Subcutaneous dirofilariasis in Nebraska

Two human cases of subcutaneous dirofilariasis are reported from Nebraska, USA. Worms identified as Dirofilaria sp. were seen on histological examination of excised nodules. They most closely resembled D. immitis and D. lutrae. Other reports of human dirofilariasis in North America are reviewed.
