The state of the immunological system plays a diagnostic and prognostic role in the observation of subjects with neoplastic diseases. In persons with immunologic deficits, neoplasms tend to appear more frequently than in the population. Uterine myomas represent a benign type of neoplastic growth, albeit in some subjects these may undergo malignant transformation. Available references did not report studies upon the immunologic state of women with diagnosed uterine myoma. The presented work covered 50 women with diagnosed myoma (mean age 46.7 yr) and 50 healthy subjects (mean age 31.5 yr). Ig (IgG, IgM, IgA) concentrations were determined by the Mancini technique. The percent and number of T lymphocytes were determined by means of the Jondall rosetta test, the B lymphocytes by means of the EA [erythrocyte-antibody] rosetta test (Holm). The numbers and percents of the T and B lymphocytes did not differ from the normal values. In women with uterine myomata a significant decrease of blood serum IgG and IgM was noted.
