Typical nursing-bottle caries is described in a child of 2.5 years old given frequent sweet snacks and a variety of sweetened bottle feeds during the day and, from 6 to 24 months old, a feeding bottle in bed. Incisors were seriously affected and molars to a less extent. The parents had been unaware of dangers of the child's diet and no examining doctor had commented on the deplorable state of the child's teeth.
