Advantages of terminolateral gastroduodenal anastomosis in the surgical treatment of duodenal ulcer

Resection of the stomach was performed in 112 patients with duodenal ulcers by the method of termino-lateral gastro-duodenal anastomosis. The advantages of this method over termino-terminal gastroduodenoanastomosis are shown. Its positive role in prophylaxis of incompetent sutures of the duodenal stump and anastomosis and in the reduced postoperative lethality is demonstrated.
