Balint's syndrome and transient global amnesia as a result of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning

A 19-yr-old patient who developed Balint's syndrome following CO poisoning is described. The neurological picture of the patient following coma showed optic ataxia, deficit of visual attention and visual disorientation. The patient presented spatial dyslexia and dysgraphia and amnesic deficit which is similar in character to transient global amnesia. A 1 yr follow-up revealed a spontaneous regression of the symptoms: a minor degree of visual disattention remains.
