The problem of insufficient motor activity during work as a widely distributed adverse occupational factor that reduces the working capacity and deteriorates the health of workers was discussed. Some guidelines for evaluating and directing health-promoting measures aimed at prevention and correction of hypokinesia during working hours and at its compensation during nonworking hours was described. Development of standards that would define the optimal range of motor activity and set limits for permissible reduction of this activity was formulated.
