An investigation is made of the physiopathological, morphological and neurological relations, including those of a mutual character, that the human face muscle, and those of the mouth in particular, may have with other apparatus and systems, with reference to a series of cases and the literature. Several collateral hypotheses are proposed. Methods and their stages, and the intermediate and final results they give, are illustrated for the purposes of treatment. A detailed account is given of the stomatological management required to maintain such results, and to the importance of studies of this kind in both maintenance and prosthesis treatments in stomatology and in orthodontics.
