Autoimmune thyroiditis in peripheral arterial disease

One hundred and twenty eight patients with angiographically documented peripheral arterial disease were investigated and it was found that 13 patients had a raised fasting serum cholesterol level. Of these, 2 patients were shown to have asymptomatic autoimmune thyroiditis on the basis of having thyroid antibodies and a raised thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH Level).
