In a prospective, randomized clinical trial of 2 IUDs, the Progestasert (1963 women) and the Cu T200 (186 women), there were no significant differences observed after a period of 12 months of observation, particularly with regard to efficacy. The Progestasert, however, must be changed at most 18 months after insertion; thus, this IUD is less practical than the Cu T200. (author's)
