Sex and age changes of the axillary lymphatic nodes in adult people

The axillary lymphatic nodes of right and left extremities of 32 female and 34 male cadavers of the persons at the age of 28-92 were studied. Gerot's blau mass was injected into the skin of the fingers, palm, the back of the hand, deltoid areas, lateral surface of the theracic wall at the level of the 6th intercostal space the lateral half of the mammary gland, as well as into the lymphatics, which were prepared after interstitial injections. The statistical data was theated by the method of variation. The studies have established statistically significant dependence between the number of axillary lymphatic nodes and the age of both sexes in the whole as well as in separate groups. It has been found that the total quantity of axillary lymphatic nodes in males is significantly larger than in females only at mature age of the 1st and 2nd periods.
