Three impacted 3rd molar teeth were removed from a 28 yr old woman at 2 separate appointments using transcendental meditation instead of conventional analgesia. The technique was speculatively linked to acupuncture and hypnoanalgesia and some evidence for the existence of an endogenous analgesia system was presented.
