Organization of hematologic services in the Tiumen Region

In the Tyumen Region hematological service has existed since 1974. This service includes a specialized division at the Regional Hospital and a consultation room for outpatients (adults and children) where diagnosis is made. Use is made of puncture biopsies of the bone marrow and lymph nodes, radioisotopic examinations, etc. The treatment and dispensary examination of patients are also carried out. Two case histories of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia are presented. These patients were treated in Tyumen and the region: the treatment resulted in longtime remissions (87 and 69 mo., respectively), so that by 1980 these patients could be considered practically healthy.
