Retention of contrast medium in oral cholecystography, manifested by an incomplete ring or any other sign in the right epigastrium, is a rare occurrence. However, if such retention is discovered, the roentgenologist must immediately suspect the presence of an active duodenal ulcer, so that it will be imperative to perform contrast medium examination of th stomach right away.
