It is well known that a colored halo sometimes appears in glaucoma, especially in narrow angle glaucoma. So far few reports have been published on this problem. The process of colored halo was analyzed theoretically. A hydrous membrane, appeared in between the corneal epithelium and Bowman's membrane, was expected to act as a diffraction grating. According to Franhofer's diffraction theory, approximate size and arrangement of colored rings were shown. Fresnel diffraction theory is necessary for precise explanation.
