Thiaminepyrophosphatase activity is investigated in histological sections of nervous tissue. The histochemical reaction was effectively developed in histological sections proceeding from rats perfused with glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde and said reaction is activated by incubating in the presence of Ca2+ or of imidazole. Noradrenaline and L-dopa produced, inhibition of the thiaminepyrophosphatase activity.
