Decrease in duration of the pause in discharge from Ia spindle afferents during a sequence of passive twitches

The pause in muscle spindle discharge decreases progressively during a sequence of passive muscle twitches. As there is no excitation of fusimotor fibers in these conditions, the changes in pause duration are attributable to an intrinsic mechanism of the spindles.
