Fungi isolated from the scalp of 151 of 313 patients examined included 77 Trichophyton violaceum, 58 Microsporum canis, 7 M. langeronii, 3 T. verrucosum, 3 T. schoenleinii, 2 T. tonsurans and 1 T. yaoundei. Fungi isolated from the glabrous skin of 14 patients included 9 T. violaceum, 1 M. langeronii, 3 T. verrucosum and 1 T. soudanense.
