Pregnancy occurring following treatment of chorioepithelioma with metastases

A case of chorionepithelioma with metastases was observed. The metastatic foci were localized in the lungs and vagina and were treated with success with 4 curos of methotrexate and mercaptopurine preparations. The patient became pregnant 4 yr after treatment. Premature rupture of the amniotic bag forced preterm cesarean delivery of a 1800 g male, whose further development was normal. The necessity of microscopical examination of the aborted tissues for the prophylaxis of chorionic degeneration development was stressed. The role of chemotherapy, reinforced with proper nursing, and the broad introduction of hCG estimations for diagnosis of chorionic outgrowth and for treatment control are stressed.
