No crossreaction between circulating plasminogen activator and urokinase

Malignant ovarian tumors release a urokinase-like plasminogen activator which could be a biological marker for the tumor and detected in a radioimmunoassay. The immunoreactivity of the physiological circulating blood plasminogen activator released from the vessel wall was therefore studied in 6 healthy volunteers after venous occlusion. The enhanced fibrinolytic activity was not followed by any increase in the concentration of antiurokinase-reacting material.
