The alkaline phosphatase is detected in the A and B cells and in the endothelial cells of white rat pancreas. It is located in the following cell organelles: on the outer surface of the plasmalemma; in the Golgi apparatus; in the halo of some granules near the Golgi apparatus and in the A-cells matrix. This enzyme takes part predominantly in the transport processes of the islet cells.
