A case of carcinoid tumor of the appendix with regional lymph node metastases is reported. The pathological findings in this case and in others previously reported indicate a likely malignant diffusion into lymph nodes. When the size of the tumor is more than 15 mm and the site near the base of appendix, the high risk of malignant diffusion indicates a right colectomy.
