120 men, 26-55 years of age, underwent outpatient vasectomy by electrocoagulation after injections of Rivanol into the ductus deferens to effect immediate azoospermia. No cases of infection, sperm granuloma, or scrotal hematoma were reported. The most common side effect was tenderness of the testis and/or scrotum (5 cases). Recanalization occurred in 1 case. The remaining patients showed azoospermia within 1 week after the operation.
