On the basis of literature and the results of investigations performed in the Department of Experimental Surgery and Plastics Research of the Institute of Surgery, Medical Academy in Wroclaw (Poland), the author discusses early and late complications after intratissular injections of silicone fluids. The indications for their clinical use are limited.
