Aids for hemophiliac children on a self-infusion program

Self-infusion presents several minor practical problems, including the need for a tourniquet which can be applied and released with 1 hand, and the prevention of bruises at the venipuncture site in small active children. Two simple devices which overcome these problems are described, one of which is a modification of a tourniquet originally described by Metrewell. A clamp used to prevent postphlebotomy brusing is also described.
