A case report is presented of a 23-yr-old man with chronic Trichophyton violaceum infection of the scalp contracted at the age of 10 from his grandmother. T. was isolated from foci of infection on the trunk, extremities and nail plates. Candida albicans was isolated from the mucous membranes of the mouth.
