In south-eastern Gabon, the indirect fluorescent antibody test, the Fulton direct agglutination test and (to characterize IgM) the 2-mercapto-ethanol test were applied to 1448 serum samples. Toxoplasma infection was found in 52.6%, occurred early in both sexes and was more frequent in men (57.9%) than women (45.4%) and in the Ogooue-Lolo province (62.6%) than in the High Ogooue province (49.6%).
