The living experience of death is examined in this paper in his philogenetic and linguistic contexts showing how in every cases it has a central meaning of separation and vanishing of the scene of life. In respect to the living experience itself, there are three distinguishable modalities relationed with the time and a similar distinction can be pointed out in respect to its links with the Other's binding. With regard to this last subject, other problems appear as the problem on bereavement, mourning and anaclisis or the transfiguration of the lost object by means of the apprehension of its sense.
