Sudden infant death syndrome is the largest single cause of death between 1 wk and 1 yr of age, and infants labeled "near miss" have sudden epidoses of cyanosis and apnea. Fourteen patients were identified with the "near miss" syndrome caused by gastroesophageal reflux and aspiration. Positional therapy and surgical treatment regimens had good effects.
