In patients without any respiratory disease but suffering from left heart cardiopathies, even in the absence of evident signs of ventricular insufficiency, complex alterations of the respiratory function were noticeable with delicate exploration methods. The early and frequent compromising of the MEF which in the evolution of the cardiopathy often precedes the alteration of the other respiratory parameters. Functional respiratory exploration is useful in the cardiac patient.
