Glucose fructose & citric acid in amniotic fluid of diabetic women

Amniotic fluid was collected during the first stage of labour or immediately before caesarean section from 6 diabetic and 77 healthy women. In the healthy group, with foetus bodyweight less than 2.5, 2.5 to 3.5 and more than 3.5 kg, glucose was 12.11, 18.4 and 16.2 mg/100 ml, fructose was 2.11, 3.1 and 2.67 mg/100 ml and citric acid was 2.7, 3.5 and 3.4 mg/100 ml. In amniotic fluid from the diabetics, glucose was 46.83, fructose 3.5 and citric acid 3.48 mg/100 ml.
