The 1st simultaneous occurrence of congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia in an infant patient was described. The diagnostic problem encountered provides an example of the effect of thyroid hormone on the metabolism of adrenocortical steroid hormones. Hypothyroidism may obscure underlying adrenal insufficiency.
