Placental tumors are remarkable immunologically because they are the only genetic tumors that are incompatible in human clinical medicine. These tumors are antigenetic. They are thus the only incompatible tumors that are grafted-on in clinical medicine. They can give rise to rejection phenomena, and probably also to facilitation reactions. Such has been the progress of chemotherapy that in spite of these special immunological reactions between the tumor and the host, they are no longer probably the most important prognostic factors.
