The paper evaluate the efficiency of macular laser treatment and the identification of the negative or insufficient conditioning factors of this treatment. The study involved 47 patients with type II diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia, with CSME. For all patients, laser macular treatment was realised. The follow-up period varied between 12-42 months. The statistic findings suggest that the laser treatment is efficient for the most important part of the patients, in 12-24 months, only few patients with poor metabolic control or renal failure had poor results. The macular oedema and macular plaques start to regress 6 months after the laser procedure initiation and become complete after 12-24 months. The hypo or hyperglycemia , the incomplete laser treatment, other general diseases are causes of the therapeutic failure.
