The case is reported of an apparently healthy foal which died suddenly. There was an acute generalized peritonitis and the anterior portion of the duodenum, for a length of about 45 cm, was intensely inflamed and contained a rupture of about 8 cm with severance of the adjoining omentum. Virtually all the content of this section was a mass of Anoplocephala magna.
