Barbital, phenobarbital and ethaminal sodium isolated from biological material were identified on the basis of IR absorption spectra (at 3200-3000, 1800-1600 and 1450-1200 cm-1). IR absorption spectra of pure preparations and those isolated from biomaterials (liver, kidneys ) coincided completely.
