Degrees of the comparative acid-base balance in different forms of glomerulonephritis during different stages of chronic renal insufficiencies were analyzed in terms of standard bicarbonate levels, buffers, pH and P[CO2 partial pressure]CO2. Increased renal insufficiency during glomerulonephritis suppressed acid production functions of kidneys. Terminal stages of chronic renal insufficiency were characterized by metabolic acidosis along with respiratory alkalosis. Patients with latent and hypertonic forms exhibited a lowered acid-base balance.
