The relationship between use of estrogens and frequency of endometrial cancer is discussed. Many studies show a strong correlation between estrogen use and endometrial cancer. These studies are all retrospective and may have other weak points, but the relationship is so marked and common to all studies that it is difficult to dismiss. The use of estrogen increased from 3 million users to 5 million users from 1970 to 1974. Vasomotor difficulties during the climacterium can be treated with estrogens, but psychic disturbances are not treated as easily. It is suggested that, during estrogen treatment, dosage be kept as low as possible, regular check-ups be given, and vabrasio should be performed once a year. The use of natural unconjugated estrogens should be preferred to other compounds. Insufficient control of patients using estrogens can be worse than "overcontrol" of patients.
