Some features about blood pressure levels in children are reviewed, and the clinical strategy developed by the Task Force on Blood Pressure Control in Children for use by physicians is presented. The topics discussed are: measurement of blood pressure; need for repeated measurements; tracking of blood pressure; familial aggregation of blood pressure; predicting hypertensive complications; electrolytes and hypertension; and, a working definition of childhood elevated blood pressure. Charts show blood pressure percentiles obtained from children.
