Chronic gastritis caused by Ollulanus tricuspis (Leuckart 1865) in a cat

A chronic sclerotic gastritis caused by a heavy infestation with Ollulanus tricuspis is described from a cat which died about a year after importation from England to West Germany. Autopsy also showed chronic sclerosis of the jejunum with hypertrophy of the smooth muscles of the intestinal wall, and fatty degeneration of the heart muscles and the central lobe of the liver. It is suggested that subclinical infections with this parasite may be more common than suspected.
