An analysis of the relationship of the body (e.g., human) and the biosphere indicated that the amount of air entering the body per day was 1000 times greater than the amount of food. Industrial development with the creation of pollution problems has increased the incidence of pulmonary diseases, which reached 39% of all types of pathologies in inhabitants in large cities. The actual percentage of respiratory system diseases is higher since it should include the pathologies of the circulatory system, hemodynamics and tissue respiration. A possible preventive measure can be the study of the causes of sensitivity and resistance of individuals to environmental effects. The selection of occupations with consideration of these biochemical variations should decrease the incidence of respiratory system diseases. Data on mutations and biochemical variability in laboratory mammals, flies and yeast are also included.
