Cytologic picture of the nasal mucosa following corticosteroid therapy in hay fever

On the basis of results obtained on cytologic examination, significant differences were found in nasal smears from patients treated by topical application of Beclomethasone. No cytologic differences were found following systemic treatment with Kenalog. Cytologic examination is useful to evaluate the effect of medications on the nasal epithelium.
