Orungo virus is relatively sensitive to lipid solvents and sodium deoxycholate. It is readily inactivated at 37.degree. C and above, by UV irradiation, beta propiolactone and formalin. Orungo virus is pH 3.0 labile, but stable at pH range of 5.0-7.0. Multiplication of Orungo virus in BHK-21 cell cultures is not affected in the presence of 5-iododeoxyuridine.
