Histopathological study of radiated giant cell tumour of the bone

Fifteen cases of giant cell tumor are presented. All these cases were treated with radiation. The histological changes after radiation were studied in comparison with pre-radiation biopsy material. A wide spectrum of changes was observed in these patients. These changes were co-related with the dose of radiation and time interval between radiation and subsequent surgery. Malignant transformation occurred 10 yr after radiation in 3 cases.
