Only children between the ages of 6 mo.-6 yr who had a brief, generalized seizure, occurring after an elevation of body temperature with no evidence of meningitis or encephalitis, were included. Skull roentgenograms were obtained in 489 of 753 children seen. All were normal. The yield, compared with the high cost of skull radiography and the unnecessary exposure to ionizing radiation, may not justify the use of skull radiography in the management of patients with simple febrile seizures.
