The use of the terms association, causal conditioned reflex and cause-effect relationship and their applicability to studies on man and animals (e.g., mammals) are discussed. Human cause-effect relationships are described using Bacon-Mill methods. Cause-effect relationships in animals are considered to be a common conditioned reflex of simple sequence.
