Specimens of Cucullanus truttae from the abdominal cavity of Lampetra planeri from the River Stensan in south Sweden are described and minor differences from previously published descriptions are noted. Dacnitis stelmioides is synonymized with C. truttae. Lampreys are considered to be intermediate or transport hosts of C. truttae rather than definitive hosts and adult C. truttae from lampreys are thought to be progenetic. The life-cycle is discussed.
